: Mauro Giuliani (1781-1829), friend of Beethoven and Rossini, composed concerti, chamber music, and songs, as well as guitar solos and duets. These exercises are from Giulianis "Studio for the guitar", published in 1812. This tutor was much prized and the right and left hand exercises have never ceased to be used since that time.
